Several people were hurt in Ukrainian drone attacks on St Petersburg on the opening day of Russia’s largest investment forum hosted by the city, local governor Alexander Beglov has said.
The UVAs targeted infrastructure in Kirovsky and Krasnoselsky Districts as well in the port-city of Kronstadt, which is also part of St Petersburg, Beglov wrote in a post on Telegram on Wednesday morning.
Some of the facilities have been damaged in the attacks, with response teams deployed to the scene, he added.
The 29th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2026), which is often referred to as ‘Russian Davos,’ is taking place between June 3 and 6. This year’s forum will be attended by some 20,000 business people, politicians and public figures from more than 100 nations.
