A driver has been taken into custody after he allegedly engaged in a physical altercation with first responders on the Eisenhower Expressway Tuesday.
The incident occurred during rush hour in the outbound lanes of the Eisenhower near Cicero Avenue just before 4 p.m. Tuesday.
According to Illinois State Police, troopers located a vehicle stopped in lanes of traffic on the highway, which was causing delays as motorists tried to get around the vehicle.
When first responders approached the vehicle, the man allegedly became combative and engaged those responders in a physical altercation, and he was restrained and taken into custody.
The vehicle was eventually moved off the roadway at Laramie Avenue, and an investigation remains underway into the incident.
There were no injuries immediately reported.
