ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Over 1,000 Rochester City Elementary School Students showed off their skills Tuesday at the annual Nick Zona Track Meet.
The meet at Marshall Middle School brought together students from 27 city schools. They competed in events including the long jump, high jump, 200-meter run, and softball throw.
The event has been held in honor of Zona, one of the area’s top football coaches who also served as the President of Section V and athletics director at RCSD, for over 40 years.
This year, the meet had an adaptive 100-meter dash for students who use wheelchairs.
