A third trip to Runway magazine might not be so far-fetched after all.
Anne Hathaway has weighed in on the chances of a Devil Wears Prada 3, and her answer will thrill fans still buzzing over the sequel.
Asked by Savannah Guthrie on Today whether a third film could happen, Hathaway kept it simple: "I hope so." The actress, who returned as put-upon assistant Andy Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada 2, said the response to the cast reunion had been overwhelming, beyond anything she and her co-stars had imagined. The original film arrived back in 2006, two decades before the sequel.

Hathaway is not the only one ready to suit up again, though her co-stars sound a little impatient. Meryl Streep, who plays icy editor Miranda Priestly, said she hopes the studio moves faster this time: "I hope they don't wait 20 years." Stanley Tucci, who plays art director Nigel, agreed they should not drag it out. And Emily Blunt summed up the group's unhurried streak, telling the outlet, "We believe in letting a lot of time sizzle between these movies."

Don't Hold Your Breath Just Yet
For now, a third film is still in early-idea territory, with no official greenlight from the studio. Hathaway made the comments while promoting her upcomingsci-fi film The End of Oak Street opposite Ewan McGregor. She also has a Disney+ rom-com adaptation of a 22-year-old cult classic on the way.
Whether or not Andy ever walks back into Runway, the appetite is clearly there, and not just from fans. As Hathaway made clear, the cast is hoping for more too.
