Texas A&M baseball saw its 2026 season end in disappointing fashion. The Aggies lost 7-1 to USC in the winner-take-all game of the College Station Regional.
It’s a rough way to go out for A&M. Michael Earley’s team was in the driver’s seat to win the College Station Regional after defeating Lamar 7-5 in the opener and Texas State 17-2 in the winner’s bracket game.

USC, however, was too much for A&M. After fighting their way out of the loser’s bracket, the Trojans walloped the Aggies 14-3 on Sunday night to force a winner-take-all game on Monday with Super Regionals on the line.

It was 2-1 USC at the end of the 6th inning. The Trojans scored 3 in the 7th inning to extend the lead to 5-1 and added 2 more in the 8th.
Clayton Freshcorn went 6.2 innings for the Aggies, running into trouble in the 7th. He finished with 5 ER on 9 hits and 1 walk, striking out 5 of his 31 batters faced on 101 pitches (72 strikes).
