80s Rock Band Announces 2026 Tour With Special Guests

One of the defining bands of the 1980s is heading back on the road.

Duran Duran has announced a new run of U.K. and European tour dates for fall 2026, marking the group's first full U.K. arena tour in three years.

The band shared the news on Instagram, revealing that the tour will include stops in Oslo, Stockholm, Hamburg, Cologne, Brussels and Paris, with additional dates expected to be announced in the coming months.

The group also revealed that British band Pigeon will join the U.K. leg of the tour as special guests. According to Duran Duran, Pigeon will bring its distinctive blend of post-punk and Afro-disco influences to the arena run.

Tickets go on sale June 5, while members of the band's DD VIP Community will receive access to an exclusive presale beginning June 3. The announcement is the latest chapter in a remarkable career that now spans more than four decades.

Formed in Birmingham, England, in 1978, Duran Duran became one of the biggest bands of the MTV era thanks to a string of hits including "Hungry Like the Wolf," "Rio," "Ordinary World" and "The Reflex." The band's innovative music videos helped define the visual style of the 1980s and turned members Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor, Andy Taylor and Roger Taylor into international superstars.

"I think people assumed that we were just a teen band that was just releasing these quite poppy singles," Roger Taylor told Grammy.com. "There was always what I call the dark side of Duran, and I think it took a few years for people to really appreciate that, that we had another side musically."

Unlike many of their contemporaries, Duran Duran successfully adapted to changing musical eras, scoring additional hits in the 1990s and continuing to release new music well into the 21st century.

"We set our parameters wide straight away," Rhodes told Classic Pop Mag. "You've got 'Girls On Film' and 'Planet Earth' next to 'Night Boat' – psychedelic synths and a six-minute orchestral piece among pop songs. [...] We took every idea we could jumble together from glam, punk, disco and funk and made our own sound. But we always liked a bit of everything – we simply couldn't have been a band that sticks to one sound once it's found an audience. There’s nothing wrong with bands who do that, but we just get bored if we make the same thing."

The band's longevity has earned them recognition as one of the most influential acts to emerge from the new wave movement, while their catalog continues attracting both longtime fans and younger listeners discovering their music through streaming platforms.

The tour announcement comes as Duran Duran continues to release new music. Earlier this year, the band unveiled "Free to Love," a shimmering synth-pop track that blends the group's signature melodic hooks with a contemporary production style.

With a major arena tour now on the calendar and more dates still to be announced, Duran Duran appears poised to continue that legacy well into 2026.

For fans across Europe and the U.K., the newly announced tour offers another opportunity to see one of pop music's most enduring bands perform some of the biggest songs of the past four decades live on stage.
