Auburn added another name to its 2027 recruiting class as a defensive back from Georgia committed to the Tigers on Sunday.
Nash Johnson, from McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Ga. — just outside of Atlanta — has pledged to the Tigers, becoming the 10th player in the class of 2027 to do so. Johnson revealed his committment to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Johnson, who stands at 6-foot-even and weighs 180 pounds, is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 59 centerback in the country. His pledge makes him the first defensive back to commit to Alex Golesh’s program out of the class of 2027. The Tigers currently have the No. 28 class, according to 247Sports.com, and it’s a group led by four-star running back Myson Johnson-Cook.
Johnson now makes six players to commit to Auburn in May. Wide receiver Brylan Odour became the first on May 2, followed by Atlanta-area quarterback Gary Chatman Jr. a week later. On May 17, linebacker Kareem Palmer announced his commitment before offensive tackle Layton Von Brandt did the same a day later.
