Qiddiya City and MPL MENA Partnership Overview

This announcement served as the highlight of the league’s most successful season to date. Held at the Hassan Mostafa Sports Hall, the sold-out event saw 3,000 fans in attendance—the league’s largest offline audience yet. The atmosphere was further bolstered by the presence of Egyptian Esports Federation (EESF) officials, highlighting the increasing institutional support for the sport.

    A Strategic Long-Term Vision

The partnership integrates Qiddiya City into the MPL MENA framework through broadcast partnerships, community initiatives, and onsite fan activations. This collaboration is designed to embed the Qiddiya brand into the heart of the gaming community while providing the infrastructure necessary for long-term industry sustainability.

Ray Ng, Head of Esports Ecosystem at MOONTON Games, emphasized the importance of this shift toward immersive experiences: “Esports in MENA is entering a new phase of growth, where fans are looking for more than just competition. They want live experiences, community spaces, and entertainment that feels relevant to them. Long term collaborations like this are important because they help create the infrastructure and ecosystem needed to support that growth at scale. Together with Qiddiya City, we want to continue building experiences that bring gaming, entertainment, and youth culture closer together across the region.”

Record-Breaking Performance Competitive intensity reached new heights as Geekay Esports secured the championship title, earning them a spot at the MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) during the 2026 Esports World Cup. Team Falcons, finishing as runners-up, qualified for the tournament’s Wild Card stage. Both teams will compete for a portion of a massive US$3,000,000 prize pool.

The season also shattered viewership records, hitting a peak of 91,542 concurrent viewers. Reflecting on this momentum, Ray added: “The pace of growth we’re seeing for MLBB Esports in MENA has been incredibly encouraging. We’re seeing stronger community participation, more interest from ecosystem partners, and increasing demand for live experiences. For us, that signals long term potential for MENA to play an even bigger role in the global MLBB Esports ecosystem.”
