ROCHESTER, N.Y. — On Friday, Eric Fountain, the man who deputies say was rearrested after escaping during processing from early May, pleaded not guilty to multiple charges. His trial is set for Oct. 19.

Fountain pleaded not guilty to the following charges:
Escaping custody Assault Resisting arrest False personation Criminal possession of stolen property Several drug chargesFountain has a set cash bail of $250,000, an insured bond at $500,000, and a partially secured surety bond at $1,750,000.
Background on Fountain
Back on May 2, deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office stopped Fountain at a Lyell Avenue gas station after getting a report about a stolen vehicle. MCSO says he lied about his identity and was found with illicit and prescription drugs.
He attempted to run from deputies and was taken into custody, according to MCSO.
He later escaped while in handcuffs during processing, MCSO reported.
A deputy was knocked out after being tackled by Fountain, says MCSO, and he then ran off.
Law enforcement set up a perimeter to contain him, and deputies say they found him hiding in a drainage pipe under the Court Street Bridge, thanks to cameras from the Monroe County Water Authority and the Greece Police Department’s robot.
