Texas high school state champion Brooklyn Poole has announced her commitment to swim and study at Texas Christian University beginning in the fall of 2027. She publicized the news on SwimCloud, writing:
I am incredibly blessed and excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Texas Christian University!! First, I would like to thank God for blessing me with this opportunity and giving me wisdom and discernment throughout this process. I would also like to thank my family, friends, teammates, and coaches for their unwavering love and support. A big thank you to Coach Carolyn, Coach James, and the rest of the coaching staff at TCU for this opportunity! Go Frogs!!
A junior at A&M Consolidated High School in College Station, Texas, Poole has swum for her school’s team since her freshman year. In addition to representing the Tigers, Poole currently trains year-round with Aggie Swim Club, where she primarily specializes in breaststroke and IM.
Poole recently wrapped up a 2025-26 short course season that saw her drop nearly three seconds in the 200 breast and over a full second in the 100 breast. Her standout meet was the University Interscholastic League (UIL) High School State Championships in February, where she won the 200 IM in a season-best 2:04.42, just off her lifetime best of 2:04.29 set at the same meet a year prior, and was the runner-up in the 100 breast with her current best time of 1:02.99. It was her strongest showing at the state meet to date, improving on third-place finishes in both events a year prior and third in the 100 breast and fourth in the 200 IM as a freshman.
Poole clocked her lifetime best of 2:16.23 in the 200 breast at Speedo Sectionals – Justin a few weeks after the high school state meet.

100 Breaststroke: 1:02.99 200 Breaststroke: 2:16.23 200 IM: 2:04.29A Division I program, TCU competes in the Big 12 Conference, with the women’s team placing sixth out of 10 teams at this past season’s conference championships. Poole’s current lifetime bests in the breaststroke events would have qualified for the ‘C’ finals, while a 2:03.25 was required to earn a second swim in the 200 IM. With two seasons of training still ahead before her first conference meet, she is already a scoring threat for the Horned Frogs.
Poole is currently the only confirmed recruit committed to TCU for fall 2027.
