ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Here’s your guide to events happening on Friday and this weekend in the Rochester area. You can learn more about what’s happening around town on our Community Calendar.
Greek Festival (through Sunday)
Greek food, music, and culture are on full display in the parking lot of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church on East Avenue. The annual Greek Festival runs through Sunday.
Volunteers will serve traditional Greek dishes including gyro, souvlaki, spanakopita, lamb shanks, pastichio, and moussaka. There will also be Greek coffee, wine, and desserts, including baklava.
People can also listen to live music from a traditional Greek band and watch groups of Greek dancers, from kindergarteners to adults, perform. There will also be tours of the church, shopping, and children’s activities at the festival.
The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. Food lines close at 9 p.m. every night. You can see music and dancing schedules, a menu, or sign up to volunteer here.
Part of the funds raised from the festival will support local charities. In the past, the festival has supported Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Rochester, the House of Mercy, and 13thirty Cancer Connect. The festival kicked off on Thursday.
Rochester RV Show (through Sunday)
New and pre-owned RVs will be on display through Sunday at the Tim Horton’s Iceplex in Brighton. The Colton RV & Marine and Airstream of Buffalo are hosting the Rochester RV Show.
People can check out RVs, travel trailers, fifth wheels, Airstreams, toy haulers, and motorhomes. Those who buy an RV at the show will get 40% off and one year of free Harvest Hosts camping. Those who pre-register will automatically be entered into a chance to win a Blackstone Grill.

Peanuts exhibit at Strong Museum (opens Saturday)
An exhibit celebrating Charles Schulz’s classic comic “Peanuts” opens at the Strong National Museum of Play on Saturday. The exhibit is a tribute to Charlie Brown, Lucy, Snoopy, Linus, and the rest of the Peanuts gang.
Guests can go inside Snoopy’s doghouse and climb into Linus’ blanket fort, explore Peanuts town. The exhibit will stay on view through Monday, Sept. 7. It’s included with general museum admission. To learn more about the exhibit, click here.
Flower City Days (Sunday)
Sunday marks the final Flower City Days of the season at the Rochester Public Market. The market will be full of all kinds of plants and gardening supplies to get Rochester ready for the growing season.
It runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be annuals, perennials, hanging baskets, succulents, and more. You can learn more about upcoming events at the market here.
