The TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 campaign for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) ended after they lost to the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Eliminator last night. The Orange Army’s new star all-rounder Harsh Dubey had a decent IPL campaign and a good domestic campaign, which earned him a call to the India National Cricket Team.

Harsh Dubey has got a maiden call-up for both the one-off Test and the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan next month. Chief Selector of India Ajit Agarkar has praised Harsh and sees him as a future like-for-like replacement for Ravindra Jadeja, but also mentioned that the latter is still the No.1 all-rounder of the team despite being dropped.

After being asked about him replacing Ravindra Jadeja, he answered that he is not looking to replace anyone and focuses on his game, puts in the hard work, and wants to back his abilities. He picked up 198 wickets in 95 games across three formats.

"This opportunity has helped me grow a lot as a player. I am not looking to replace anyone. I worked hard for this opportunity and my hard work is the reason why I am here today. Instead of thinking too much about the future, my focus is entirely on giving my best on any given day," Dubey told PTI on his arrival after completing his IPL assignment.

"Right now, I am treating this international match just like any normal game. I don't want to put too much pressure on myself; I just want to back my abilities and keep doing what has always worked for me."

    Harsh Dubey's first-class career

Harsh Dubey has 133 first-class wickets, nine five-fors, and two 10-wicket hauls. He is also adept with the willow, having scored over 1000 runs in 27 red-ball games. The all-rounder has nine half-centuries in first-class cricket.

"I really enjoy my batting and want to consistently perform as an all-rounder. I see myself as an all-rounder because I have always played as one," said Dubey. Harsh Dubey, featured in 8 IPL games this season has allowed him to excell in his game. "This is my first full IPL season, and it has been a really good experience," said Dubey.

Sunrisers Hyderabad had a stellar run in IPL 2026

The spinner all-rounder picked up 8 wickets in 8 games with best figures of 3/12 against the Delhi Capitals. He did not play in the Eliminator, but the 23-year-old Vidarbha cricketer will now be looking to practice hard on his off days and be ready for the upcoming international games.

Coming to the Sunrisers Hyderabad IPL campaign, they started the competition on a low and then picked up in the middle phase, and they won five games in a row after losing the first two out of the four games. They qualified with 18 points; however, they finished 3rd in the points table with a lower NRR than Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Gujarat Titans.
