One popular U.K. rock duo stunned fans with the announcement that the rest of their scheduled tour dates were officially canceled in a revealing statement on May 26, 2026. The rock band, Seafret, which features members Jack Sedman and Harry Draper, had just kicked off a new tour to support their latest album, Fear of Emotion, which came out in March.
They played four shows in the U.K. on May 21, 22, 23, and 25 before the announcement came out on social media. Draper wrote a personal statement addressing the reason behind the decision.
"I'm so sorry to have to do this, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to cancel the remainder of the tour," began Draper, before he revealed that he recently received a shocking health diagnosis. "I'm going to be totally honest with you, I'm struggling. I've recently been diagnosed with an eye disease called Stargardt, which will sadly mean I'm going to go blind."
According to Foundation Fighting Blindness, Stargardt is "a genetic eye disorder that causes retinal degeneration and vision loss." It is quite rare and often inherited from one's parents.
Draper told fans, "It's been so much to get my head around, and I've really struggled to see last few nights on stage. I just need to take a bit of time out to get my head around all of this." But he also made it clear that he doesn't intend to let the condition hinder him from continuing his passion for music, adding, "I won't let this stop me, but I do just need a little time."
