George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) has pointed his finger towards another Coronation Street character amid the investigation into Theo Silverton's (James Cartwright) murder.
So far, the funeral director, his partner Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) and Gary Windass (Mikey North) have been hauled in for questioning, and Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) has been charged.
George had suspicions about her behaviour, and her willingness to lie about her whereabouts on the night of Theo's death, and decided to speak to DS Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers).
He'd also witnessed her burning a number of pages from her journal, which detailed how she wanted to aim a gun at Theo's head. Connor-Swain's eyebrow had also been raised, having found a photo of Summer wearing a brooch that matched the one found at the scene of the crime.
George has lost his surrogate son Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce), who is furious that Summer is behind bars as a result of his actions.
However, in today's episode, a potential new suspect came to the forefront.
Theo's ex-wife, Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson), was in Preston's Petals browsing their floral arrangements. Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) warned that they could be expensive, and although she could do a smaller spray, it wouldn't look appropriate for on top of the coffin.
George overheard her discussing her financial woes, and quickly surmised that she could be looking at a hefty payout from Theo's life insurance and inheritance.
Tracy reckoned that this could be a good enough reason to want to bump someone off.
Did Danielle kill Theo?
Series producer Kate Brooks has already teased to Radio Times and other media that the reveal of the murderer won't come until late June or July.
"It's a massive story, there’s so many different twists, and there's so many different offshoots to the story as well," she explained.
"You think you're watching one thing, and then it diverts into a completely new kind of story territory. It'll definitely keep people guessing."
Could the suspicion surrounding Danielle just be another way to throw us off the scent, with the real killer still walking the cobbles?
