A multi-vehicle crash in the northbound lanes of DuSable Lake Shore Drive during the busy Tuesday morning rush hour commute was leading to major traffic impacts, NBC 5 traffic reporter Kye Martin said.
The crash, with at least two vehicles involved, was blocking northbound lanes between 47th Street and Oakwood Boulevard, in the Kenwood neighborhood. Traffic Net reported “solid traffic” from Marquette Drive.
Martin described the crash as “serious,” with drive times on the already busy stretch of DuSable Lake Shore Drive building. Photos and video from the scene showed traffic at a standstill in the northbound lanes, with ambulances and Chicago police cars on site. A red car and a grey car could be seen damaged, with some lane closures.
CPD confirmed to NBC Chicago they were responding to a crash in the 4700 block of DuSable Lake Shore Drive. No further details were provided.
