Can Jaxson Dart protect himself? Biggest Year 2 questions for top 2025 draft picks | CBSSports.com

Can Abdul Carter convert his pressures into sacks? Carter finished 12th in the NFL with 66 pressures, according to Tru Media. He also ranked 46th in pressure rate out of 271 players who rushed the passer 100 times or more. But because Carter converted just four of his pressures into sacks, he checked in 211th among that group in sack-to-pressure ratio.  That’s not something you’d expect to continue for someone who showed such a strong ability to get near the quarterback. Can he finish the job more often in Year 2?

Can Jaxson Dart rein it in? And can he produce inside structure? Dart had an impressive rookie season, completing 63.7% of his passes at an average of 6.7 yards per attempt, with 15 touchdowns and five interceptions. He also ran for 487 yards and nine scores. But he left several games due to injury and played with a reckless physical style that frankly isn’t sustainable. Being more willing to play inside the structure of the offense will help him stay on the field, but will he be as productive a passer and runner if he does that? He was better as a rookie when the play broke down, using his athleticism to extend the play by either running or finding someone in the scramble drill.

Underrated Trade Landing Spots for 49ers’ Brandon Aiyuk That Aren’t the Commanders | Bleacher Report

The Giants signed veteran wideout Darnell Mooney and tight end Isaiah Likely in free agency, but Mooney has been targeted over 100 times just twice in six seasons and hasn’t had a 1,000-yard season since 2021. Darius Slayton has missed time each of the past two years and caught the second-fewest passes (37) of his career in 2025.

It’s not like Aiyuk would cost a lot in terms of draft capital. His arrival would alleviate some of the pressure on Nabers to rush back onto the field. And once he is back, a Nabers/Aiyuk duo could blossom into one of the better one-two punches at the wide receiver position in the NFL.

NFL 2026 Offseason Power Rankings | The Ringer

    25. New York Giants. Cautious optimism is the theme of the year for the Giants, although there are plenty of lingering questions about this team. First, we need to see how much juice head coach John Harbaugh will have in a new environment, one that needs his best as both a coach and a de facto personnel executive. Several players New York added this offseason came from Harbaugh’s past rosters in Baltimore or from teams he faced off against in the AFC North. Familiarity might not have been the only determining factor in the Giants’ free agency plans, but it was clearly a priority for Harbaugh.

New York’s biggest move this offseason was trading away its best player—defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence—so it seems like it believes the only thing it was missing was a high-profile coach. His success came more from leaning on otherworldly talents than from any real tactical or schematic advantages, so I’m curious to see what his next chapter will look like.

NFL’s international games are here to stay, says Osi Umenyiora | SB Nation

“It is of no consequence to the fan in in the United States of America. You’re not really losing anything. And more importantly you’re exposing the game to different people and different people get exposed to the game… guess what… they wanna play the game. And if different people from different cultures and different thought processes and different identities want to play the game what you’re gonna have is an influx of talent into the NFL… and an influx of talent into the coaching ranks into the thought behind the game. It’s only going to make the game better.

“When you look at the Premier League, or any of these other leagues, what you see is you have people from different backgrounds and different places coming into the game and it makes the game bigger it makes the game much more fun. It makes the game much more relatable and people who come in with different ideas. I mean, imagine once, you know, maybe the Japanese or the Chinese or the Germans start coming in with their thought processes or the Africans start coming in. Then the game is going to change completely from what you know and it’s going to be a much better version of the game that we know. So embrace it. Love it. And I think all will be well.”
