Chicago police are responding to reports of an apparent “teen trend” gathering at 57th Street Beach on Monday night.
According to an alert posted by University of Chicago Police Monday, a “teen trend” was planned at the beach for approximately 6 p.m. Monday.
Chicago police confirmed to NBC Chicago they were responding to the beach for a large gathering.
The Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications also reported heavy traffic in the northbound lanes of DuSable Lake Shore Drive at 57th Street, and urged motorists to seek alternate routes.
