GENEVA, N.Y. — An anti-ICE rally was held in Geneva on Sunday evening. Protesters gathered at Geneva City Hall to condemn the arrest of workers in the community.
The crowd carried signs saying to stop deportations and listened as speakers took the mic on the city hall steps. An organizer spoke about how it affects the community.
“It’s devastating. So many of us know people who’ve been detained. The ripples, the families, the children who are separated from their parents now. It’s heartbreaking,” said Karen Frost-Arnold, organizer of the Finger Lakes Rapid Response.
Frost-Arnold said Finger Lakes Rapid Response helps families by providing aftermath support.
After the rally in front of the city hall steps, protesters marched and chanted down Castle Street.
