The Boys next spin-off series Vought Rising gets first look teaser trailer - and fans get an idea of how long they have to wait

The Boys may be over, but the world is only expanding, with the team releasing a teaser trailer for the upcoming prequel, Vought Rising, as well as first-look pics of new Supes.

The upcoming spin-off has been confirmed to be arriving on Prime Video in 2027 and will take viewers back to the 1950s, 70 years before the events of the popular original satirical superhero show.

The series is the fourth series within the Vought-centric universe, joining:  The Boys, which ended this week; Gen V (which was cancelled after two seasons) and animation The Boys: Diabolical.

Original series cast members Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash are both back for the series, with their complicated relationship becoming central to the storyline.

In the 50s, Soldier Boy (Ackles) is still enjoying his early exploits, while fascist Clara Vought (Cash) is yet to be fully known as Stormfront.

The series will explore the “twisted origins” of Vought International – though any further details have been kept tightly under wraps until now.

In the first look teaser, in a post-World War II New York, Soldier Boy speaks to Clara, sharing his hopes to become a hero.

“There is a brighter future,” she tells him with a German accent. “All we have to do is take it.”

There are also some new faces on the team, with first-look pictures showing Mason Dye as Bombsight, Will Hochman as Torpedo and Elizabeth Posey as Private Angel.

The newcomers are shown as being the faces of the new superhero movement, praised on television and newspapers as heroes of the country.

Each is given a new Supe persona, perfectly emblematic of post-war era heroes from the frontline.

Private Angel is dressed like a nurse, Bombsight is reminiscent of a member of the Air Force, while Torpedo dons a Marine-style uniform.

However, we know there is more to the story – with other clips revealing suitably graphic bloodshed and violence as the team get to work. Take a look below...

We also get a glimpse inside The Sage Grove Center, a supposed psychiatric facility where doctors are experimenting with the creation of Compound V, which gives people superpowers.

The result, as you can imagine, is something truly diabolical.

Completing the cast of Vought Rising are KiKi Layne, Jorden Myrie, Nicolo Pasetti, Ricky Staffieri, and Brian J. Smith.

Paul Grellong will be taking over as showrunner and will be overseen by The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke, who is producing the series and is part of the executive producer team.

Ackles and Cash will also have executive producer credits alongside Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Ori Marmur, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Michaela Starr, and Jim Barnes
