IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. — Irondequoit firefighters said they rescued a dog and two cats from a kitchen fire on Wednesday.
It happened at a house on Ranch Drive near the 104-590 interchange. Irondequoit’s fire chief says crews got there around 5:21 p.m. and saw smoke coming from the building.
No one was home, but responders say they rescued one dog and two cats, later giving the dog oxygen to revive it.
No people were hurt, but the chief says the first floor was badly damaged. The cause of the kitchen fire is still under investigation.
