Tom Brady couldn’t help but have some fun at Bill Belichick’s expense while delivering a commencement speech to the class of 2026.
“I want you to challenge yourself with ideas that are uncomfortable, and people who push you to be your very best,” Brady, 48, shared with Georgetown University graduates on Saturday, May 16. “Even if one of those people is a cranky old coach who cuts the sleeves off his sweatshirt and screams at you all day, ‘Do your job!’ OK, that’s too specific in my experience, but you guys get the point.”
While Brady may not have named names, sports fans will likely be reminded of the former NFL quarterback’s time with the former New England Patriots head coach.
Brady won six of his seven Super Bowl rings alongside Belichick, 74, during their historic 19-year run with the Patriots.

While addressing the McDonough School of Business graduates, Brady seemingly made another joke at his former coach’s expense after being introduced by the school.
“I usually don’t do well with compliments,” he said. “I had a coach for 20 years tell me how s*** I was every day.”
All jokes aside, Brady tried his best to share some words of wisdom with the graduates in his nearly 20-minute speech.
“The tests are over in school — thank God — but the tests in life, they never end,” he shared. “You will be tested every day, and those tests are the prep for the life that you want to live.”
“My story can become your story, but yours will be unique, written by you,” Brady continued. “Remember this, testing your greatness always comes in the form of a contest, where preparation meets opportunity. And the winner is the one who just won’t quit.”
It was quite the weekend for Brady, who managed to deliver a commencement speech, attend a premiere in Los Angeles and walk in a New York City Gucci runway show.
When the NFL highlighted his schedule online, the Fox Sports commentator pointed out one activity the organization missed.
