LSU basketball has reportedly agreed to a deal with EuroLeague veteran Yam Madar for $5 million, according to EuroHoops and several Tigers reporters on Monday.
The Israeli point guard currently plays for Hapoel Tel Aviv B.C. and would need approval from the NCAA to play in college basketball next season. Keep in mind that the veteran is 25 years old and will turn 26 in December, while holding several seasons of EuroLeague experience. He averaged 3.1 points, 1.4 assists and 1.3 rebounds per game last season, having appeared in 16 total games.
The 2023 EuroLeague Rising Star has already taken one swing at the NBA and will attempt to do so against next season in college basketball, should he be approved by the NCAA. Madar was selected No. 47 overall by the Boston Celtics in the 2020 NBA Draft, though he never suited up for Boston after playing in the Summer League.
