Eric Dane is keeping his mission to fight ALS going after his death.
"There’s so much more to learn, more to do, and we have to do it now,” the beloved actor shares in a posthumous message in a new public service announcement from the I AM ALS campaign. Appearing alongside several of his fellow Grey's Anatomy stars, like James Pickens Jr., Katherine Heigl, Justin Chambers, Caterina Scorsone, and show creator, Shonda Rhimes, Dane shared how important it is to advocate for battling the disease and supporting those facing it. With additional appearances from stars like John Stamos, Sharon Stone, and Alyssa Milano, the celebrity-packed video is a passionate plea to increase funding for ALS research and help the community dealing with its effects right now.

When Did Eric Dane Reveal He Had ALS?
Dane first revealed he had ALS in April 2025.
I have been diagnosed with ALS,” Dane told People in a statement at the time. “I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter.”
Despite his diagnosis, Dane was determined to return to work on HBO's Euphoria.
“I feel fortunate that I am able to continue working and am looking forward to returning to [the] set of Euphoria next week,” he continued. “I kindly ask that you give my family and I privacy during this time.”
The actor was married to Rebecca Gayheart. They had two children, Billie and Georgia.
