2026 OPEN BELGIAN SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS

Friday, May 15th – Sunday, May 17th Olympic Swimming Pool Wezenberg, Antwerp, Belgium LCM (50m) Meet Central Day 1 Recap Live Results Livestream

The 2026 Open Belgian Swimming Championships continued from Antwerp last night, with Dutch Olympic medalist Tes Schouten putting her speed on display in the women’s 100m breaststroke.

25-year-old Schouten got to the wall first in a rapid result of 1:06.68, her fastest of the season.

Schouten opened in 31.74 and closed in 34.94 to get to the wall narrowly ahead of Florine Gaspard, the Belgian who cracked a new national record in the 50m breast on night one.

Yesterday Gaspard settled for silver in 1:06.99, a time only .10 outside her lifetime best and national standard of 1:06.89 put on the books at the 2025 World Championshps.

Grace Palmer rounded out the podium in 1:10.10.

World Championships multi-medalist Roos Vanotterdijk dove in for two events, taking on the women’s 200m IM and 100m free races.

In the former, Vanotterdijk got it done for gold in a time of 2:13.68, leading the field by well over three seconds.

In the latter, she put up an effort of 54.81 (26.50/28.31) to handily defeat her competitors, with teammate Fleur Bussels representing the next-closest swimmer in 56.00.

Vanotterdijk’s 54.81 was well off her lifetime best and national record of 53.62 from last year’s Flanders Swimming Cup, but was enough to get the job done on night two.

Finally, Olympic medalist Caspar Corbeau of the Netherlands earned the men’s 50m breaststroke victory in a result of 27.26.

That held off a pair of Belgians, with domestic swimmer Bartel Vranken hitting 28.24 and Lukas Baeten landing bronze in 28.11.

Corbeau remains ranked 11th in the world on the season, courtesy of the 26.95 registered at the Lausanne Swim Cup.
