ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Temperatures this morning are already running several degrees warmer than expected, and I don’t think anyone’s complaining! Plenty of sun throughout the day as highs reach the mid 70s along the lakeshore, near 80 in Rochester, and the low 80s in the valleys of the Finger Lakes. Couldn’t ask for better weather to cap off the Lilac Festival with. Skies turn mostly cloudy overnight, but it will stay mild with lows only in the low 60s.
Monday and Tuesday will give us our first taste of summer this year as high temperatures soar into the 80s. We may not break any records, but we’ll get close. Still plenty of sunshine, save a slight chance of a passing afternoon shower on Tuesday. Humidity will be on the rise as well.
We pay for that warmth and humidity Tuesday night through Wednesday as a cold front approaches, creating rain and thunder. Nothing severe is forecasted at this time, so we remain Green on the Threat Tracker. Behind the rain and thunder comes much cooler temperatures Thursday with highs not getting out of the 50s.
Temperatures should rebound to seasonable levels for Memorial Day Weekend, and right now most of the weekend looks dry but check back in for any updates.
