The Aswan Ambulance Authority initially received a notification from the emergency relief services reporting the collision on the East Oweinat–Toshka road, noting multiple casualties at the scene.
Ambulance units were immediately dispatched to the site, where it was confirmed that a heavy transport tractor-trailer and a pickup truck had collided head-on. The impact resulted in the immediate deaths of ten individuals and left five others injured.
The survivors sustained varying degrees of injuries, including bone fractures, lacerations, and internal bleeding throughout their bodies. Preliminary investigations revealed that the victims were construction workers, the majority of whom hailed from the Dakahlia Governorate. Initial on-site inspections indicated that the accident was caused by reckless driving and excessive speeding.
The bodies of the deceased were transported to the Aswan Public Mortuary and placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecution. Meanwhile, the injured were rushed to Abu Simbel Hospital to receive necessary medical treatment.
