GATES, N.Y. — The community came out to support veterans and children at the second annual Hearts for Heroes event in Gates.
The event honors veterans and first responders. It was hosted by Howard Hanna with all proceeds going toward the Veterans Outreach Center and the Children’s Free Care Fund.
The manager of Howard Hanna in Chili said it was an amazing feeling seeing the event come together.
“It’s a contribution of everyone on this team, calling people they know, pulling in their resources, we have the veterans outreach center out here, VOC, we have tons of wonderful venders, a lot of these vendors are actually veterans themselves,” said Charlene Lally.
Several dogs were there as part of Operation Freedom Ride. That’s an animal rescue based in Rochester dedicated to helping dogs and cats in need.
