ROCHESTER, N.Y. – This weekend will finally feel like proper spring weather. Both Saturday and Sunday will be in the 70s, and skies will be overall mostly sunny. There is one hiccup: some passing showers and thunder later this afternoon. Arrival will be around 3-5pm, and any residual rain should exit the region as a whole no later than 8pm. Expect a brief heavy downpour, a few rumbles of thunder, and a gusty breeze up to 35 MPH. Nothing severe is expected, so the Threat Tracker remains Green. Tonight skies will be mostly cloudy, air will be mild, and some patchy fog may develop.
Clouds and fog will stick around for a bit Sunday morning before skies clear and beautiful weather takes over. Again it will be in the 70s and no rain is expected. Perfect conditions for the last day of the Lilac Festival.
Monday we get a taste of summer as highs reach the upper 80s among sunny skies! It will be the first time since last August we see that kind of warmth. Humidity will be on the rise too, so it will feel more like 90 degrees.
The warmth and humidity remains for most of Tuesday but clouds will build and there will be some showers and thunder later in the day. Wednesday a cold front passes through, bringing more rain/thunder, then it will be noticeably cooler on Thursday.
