Aurora police urged residents to avoid part of the Chicago suburb, with potential restrictions in place, amid an investigation into a shooting in the area Friday.
Just before 10 a.m., Aurora police said they were investigating a shooting in the 2000 block of West Downer Place.
“Officers remain on scene, and portions of the area may be temporarily restricted as the investigation continues,” police said.
Residents and travelers were told to avoid the area and “seek alternate routes if possible.”
Further details on the shooting were not immediately released.
