Not even 15 years ago, Yellowstonecreator Taylor Sheridan and his wife, Nicole Muirbrook, were struggling actors living paycheck-to-paycheck in Los Angeles.
“At the time it was like, ‘Let’s just make enough to pay a mortgage or rent or food.’ We were literally starving,” Muirbrook told Cowgirl Magazine of those early days. “That’s when Taylor started writing, and two years later, we were at the Oscars … I still can’t believe it.” (Sheridan’s breakout screenplays were Sicario and Hell orHigh Water, which was nominated for Best Screenplay.)
Since then, Sheridan has become the king of Westerns and the couple and their son, Gus, live at Bosque Ranch in Weatherford, Tex., a 600-acre expanse of land that represents the family’s shared love of cowboy culture. They also own the historic 6666 Ranch (a.k.a. the Four Sixes).

Sheridan has been married to Nicole Muirbrook since 2013. While Sheridan is typically private about his personal life, Muirbrook occasionally gives fans a glimpse into their relationship on social media.
For Sheridan’s birthday last year, she shared a steamy photo of them kissing with the caption: “Happy Birthday, my love. You’re the words, the pages, the whole damn book ?”

How did Taylor Sheridan and his wife meet?
Sheridan and Muirbrook met in Los Angeles when she was looking for an acting coach — and he was working as one while also appearing on Sons of Anarchy as Deputy Chief David Hale.
Sheridan nodded to their beginnings at the New York City premiere of his series The Madison.
"I'd like to begin it by thanking my wife, who believed in me when no one else did, including myself," Sheridan said in his opening remarks. "Without her I'd just be the coolest acting coach in L.A. I'm really glad I'm not."

They moved there sometime around 2020, after a period spent in Park City, Utah.
“We were living in Park City, and Taylor really didn’t like the snow,” Muirbrook explained. “So, he rolled over one morning and said, ‘Honey, we’re getting the hell out of here,’ and I’m like ‘Where are we going?’ ‘We’re going to go to Texas,’ he replied.”
It turned out to be a beautiful fit, especially for their young son.
“He’s never on his phone. He’s never on his X-Box,” Muirbrook said. “He’s always outside with the dogs, fishing with his buds, or roller-skating in the barn. He also ropes, so he’s often on horseback. He’s just always doing something.”
Perhaps he’s also had a chance to watch some of his dad’s shows get made — several of them, including Yellowstone, have filmed on the ranch.
