ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Bright sunshine Tuesday will help to warm temps after a frosty cold morning. Rochester Airport dipped to 33 degrees, just 3 from the record low. Sunshine will fade behind some increasing clouds later this afternoon. Highs today will reach the mid and upper 50s with light winds. Heading into tonight our next system will approach and spread showers into the region around 7-8PM. Steadier rain will fall overnight into Wednesday morning. No heavy storms or flooding expected so Threat Tracker will be Green.
Wednesday will start wet with rain in the morning. Steady rain will end by mid-morning with some dry time into the afternoon. Temperatures will reach the mid 60 out ahead of possible showers and local thunder during the early to mid-afternoon. After those showers clear we dry out and cool down into the low to mid 50s. Rain amounts will range between roughly half an inch to an inch through Wednesday afternoon.
Looking ahead to Thursday the cool weather lingers with mostly cloudy skies and a few showers possible. Slow clearing on Friday with much nicer weather for the weekend. Mainly dry Saturday and Sunday with temps warming into the 60s and low 70s. May see 75-80 degrees on Monday. A few showers and slightly cooler conditions middle of next week.
