The White Sox were able to add one more run in the bottom of the eighth on a fielder’s choice, and that’s all their bullpen needed, as Grant Taylor, Bryan Hudson and Tyler Schweitzer combined on four scoreless innings of relief, allowing just one hit and striking out four batters en route to the victory.
Outfielder Andrew Benintendi was scratched from the lineup before the game with a stiff neck, and his status for Sunday’s series finale against the Mariners is in question.
The White Sox will go for the series win Sunday afternoon at Rate Field, with Davis Martin taking the ball. First pitch is set for 1:10 p.m.
