ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Not a perfect weather weekend, but the latest model weather data is looking more encouraging for an overall pleasant weekend. A cold front will be approaching Western New York Saturday evening, but before it arrives, the temperature will rise into the middle 60s during Saturday afternoon. That would be the warmest weather since the beginning of the week and certainly good news it you are going to the Lilac Festival Parade. Then the front passes with the chance of a few thundershowers for Saturday evening. Then it turns cooler and drier for Mother’s Day.
Tonight you can expect clear skies at times with the low temperature near 40 degrees. Saturday should feature partial sunshine for the morning, then increasing clouds with thundershower later in the afternoon – especially south of the Rochester. The high temperature will be in the middle 60s. There will be the chance of a shower Saturday night with the low in the upper 40s.
On Sunday, the winds will shift to the northwest, bringing in cooler and drier weather. Mother’s Day should be partly to mostly sunny, but not as warm with the temperature in the mid-to upper 50s.
