I’m relatively new to the STATIK brand even though it’s been making charging products for more than a decade. I was impressed with the SmartCharge Pro and am thrilled to be taking a look at the MagStack Pro and SmartCharge as a follow-up. STATIK designs products with the idea that technology should be simple, seamless, and built to last. Nothing could describe these two products more than that statement. The cable is designed around keeping cable clutter tamed while the SmartCharge is made to keep you powered anywhere. Instead of treating cables and power banks as afterthoughts, the company builds them as integrated tools meant to work cleanly together in real-world setups.

One of the main places I’ve used the MagStack Pro is with my laptop (16-inch MacBook Pro). I like to use it away from my desk and docking station at times so having a reliable, powerful charging cable that can be wrapped up effortlessly has been a blessing. Even though the cable is described as ‘self-coil,’ it does still require a little bit of human interaction to be neatly tucked away. It’s not like a retractable cable, but it does take the guesswork out of wrapping the cable up. You just start coiling it up and the cable folds into itself nicely thanks to the magnets.
As nice as the magnetic coiling feature is, the MagStack Pro can still become unwrapped. I think it’s good for travel if you have a dedicated pocket in your laptop bag, but if you toss it into a bag loose, then it may lose its coiled structure and cause cable chaos again. For storage, it’s very easy to wrap up and it does charge at a full 100W. I was able to confirm that using a charger that had a display for output wattage.
Travel & Mobility: SmartCharge
In terms of portability, the SmartCharge is very versatile. It’s a little heavy to be carried in a pocket, but it’s perfect for a backpack or a laptop bag. It unfortunately does not provide a strong enough output charge to support a higher-end laptop. Low-power USB-C laptops like MacBook Airs, Chromebooks, and some Ultrabooks might be successfully powered by it, but my MacBook Pro would not.
Aside from that, the fact that the SmartCharge has a built-in plug makes it very easy to recharge, and because it features a MagSafe-compatible wireless charging area, it is extremely helpful when you are on the go. It can replace multiple charging devices, but it’s a little awkward when it comes to charging multiple devices. For example, my Apple Watch must be charged using the wireless spot, and that means my phone has to use one of the wired connections. The same is true for my AirPods Pro. You can only charge one device wirelessly at a time.
Based on both the specs and my real-world testing, the SmartCharge (Gen 2) performs pretty much exactly how I expected it to. With up to 20W over USB-C, 22.5W via USB-A, and 15W wireless charging, everything felt consistent and reliable across the board without any surprises.
When I charged my iPhone 16 Pro wirelessly, it gained 20% over 35 minutes, which works out to about 0.57% per minute. That’s pretty typical for 15W wireless charging. Things like heat and alignment keep it from sustaining top speeds, so while it’s great for casual use on a desk or nightstand, it’s not what I’d reach for if I needed a quick boost.
Switching to a cable made a noticeable difference. My iPhone gained 46% in 30 minutes, or about 1.53% per minute. That’s nearly three times faster than wireless in my testing and lines up well with what I expect from a 20W charger. Like most fast charging, it was quickest at lower battery levels and started to slow down as it got closer to full. While I was running this test, I did notice that the SmartCharge itself became noticeably warmer, especially around the display area. When I measured it, temperatures were reading over 100°F, which is something to keep in mind during longer or higher-output charging sessions.
Charging my Apple Watch Series 8 was slower, but that didn’t come as a surprise. It gained 13% over 47 minutes, which comes out to about 0.28% per minute. That’s in line with how smartwatches typically charge, so I see this as more of an overnight or passive charging option rather than something for quick top-offs.
Overall, the SmartCharge (Gen 2) delivered consistent results that matched its design. I found myself relying on the cable when I wanted speed and using wireless more for convenience. It’s not trying to be the fastest charger out there, but it does a solid job as an all-in-one solution that keeps my devices powered throughout the day.

Conclusion
Statik’s MagStack Pro and SmartCharge Gen 2 come together as a cohesive solution aimed at simplifying how you manage power throughout your day. The MagStack Pro keeps your cables organized and easy to handle, while the SmartCharge Gen 2 ensures you have power available whether you’re at your desk or on the move. That shared focus on convenience and reducing clutter is what ties them together.
What stands out most is how these products simplify something that’s usually more complicated than it needs to be.
