During the meeting, the minister reviewed workflow developments, implementation measures already taken, progress rates, and the necessary procedures to accelerate execution and increase completion rates, while emphasizing the importance of commitment to the project timeline, grid connection, and operational launch.
The discussions covered progress on the first wind energy project, a 500-megawatt project in Zaafarana, as well as the second 1,000-megawatt project in south Hurghada, which is being implemented in two phases.
The meeting falls within the framework of updates to the national plan aimed at maximizing the role of renewable energy and increasing its contribution to Egypt’s energy mix, which requires accelerating implementation, shortening execution periods, and ensuring continuous monitoring of progress rates and timelines in line with the National Energy Strategy.
