Joni Lamb, the longtime president and co-founder of Daystar Television Network, has died at the age of 65 after facing what the ministry described as “serious” health issues.
The network confirmed her death on Thursday in a public statement shared on social media.

Lamb died at her home in Bedford, Texas on Thursday. The Daystar Board of Directors praised Lamb’s faith and leadership following the announcement of her death.
“Joni's love for the Lord and for the people we serve shaped this ministry from the beginning,” the Daystar board said. “We grieve her loss, and we are grateful for the legacy of faith she leaves behind.”
Her family also requested privacy and prayers as they mourn her passing.
Daystar said memorial plans will be announced later. The network added that its programming will continue as scheduled, including special on-air tributes honoring Lamb’s life and work.
The ministry also noted that Lamb had already worked with the board to establish an executive leadership team to keep the organization operating without interruption.
“Previously, (Joni Lamb) worked with the board to ensure an executive leadership team was in place so that the ministry would continue uninterrupted,” the statement said.
Lamb spent nearly four decades working in Christian television. She co-founded Daystar in 1993 alongside her late husband, Marcus Lamb. Together, they transformed a single television station into one of the largest Christian broadcasting networks in the world.
Before launching Daystar, the couple began broadcasting Bible teaching programs in Alabama during the 1980s. They later moved to Texas and expanded their ministry into a global television network.
Lamb became widely known as the host of Joni Table Talk, a daytime talk program that featured discussions about faith, culture and current events. The show received recognition from religious broadcasting groups and earned multiple award nominations over the years.
She also co-hosted Daystar’s flagship program, Ministry Now!, alongside members of her family.
Her broadcasting career included roles as an executive producer, author, singer and television host. Daystar’s biography for Lamb described her as “daring, authentic and fiercely committed to sharing the Gospel with the world.”
Lamb’s life also included personal and public challenges. In 2021, Marcus Lamb died at age 64 following complications related to COVID-19. After his death, Lamb stepped into a larger leadership role at the network while continuing to host programming.In 2023, she married Doug Weiss, who later joined her as co-host of Ministry Now!. Lamb is survived by her husband Doug Weiss, her three children, Jonathan, Rachel and Rebecca, and their families.
