Former Tennessee wide receiver Jauan Jennings finally has a new home after six seasons with the San Francisco 49ers.
According to Adam Schefter, Jennings has signed a one-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings that could be worth as much as $13 million. Jennings’ agent, Drew Rosenhaus, relayed the news to Schefter on Thursday night. The Vikings later confirmed the signing through a release.
The signing ends Jennings’ prolonged search for a new team after his time with the 49ers came to a bitter end. After signing a two-year deal in March 2024, he entered the 2025 season seeking an extension before demanding a trade. Instead, his salary ceiling was increased to $10.5 million for that season. In 15 games, he caught 55 passes for 643 yards and a career-high nine touchdowns. He had three catches for 68 yards in the postseason, notably throwing a 26-yard touchdown pass to Christian McCaffery on a trick play in the Wild Card round.
After the season came to an end, there was no progress on an extension for Jennings, closing the book on his career in the Bay Area. He’ll now step into a wide receiver room that already includes Justin Jefferson. The big question is if it will be Kyler Murray or J.J. McCarthy throwing to him.
