Ole Miss will be trying to chase glory under Pete Golding in his first full season as head coach in Oxford, but Wednesday brought some serious hope for the 2027 season.
Three-star quarterback prize Crews Jenkins told On3’s Hayes Fawcett that he has committed to the Rebels for next season. Jenkins is 6-foot, 180 pounds, right now at least, and he chose Ole Miss and the SEC over offers from South Florida and Memphis.
Making the get for Golding even sweeter is that Jenkins comes from Tennessee, a rival SEC state, as he currently stars at Brentwood Academy in the Volunteer State. Brentwood, Tenn., is a suburb of Nashville, and nearby Vanderbilt was also in the mix for Jenkins, but ultimately, he’s decided to leave his home area while still staying in SEC country.

— Hayes Fawcett (@Hayesfawcett3) May 6, 2026According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Jenkins is the No. 1,243rd-ranked player overall in the Class of 2027. He’s the 74th-ranked quarterback right now in the class and the 43rd-ranked player from the state of Tennessee.
With Jenkins in the fold, Ole Miss now has 9 commits in its 2027 recruiting class. The Rebels class is currently ranked 20th in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
During his junior season of high school, Jenkins threw for over 2,000 yards with 25 touchdowns, and he completed a whopping 70% of his passes. Jenkins also won games, leading Brentwood Academy to an 11-1 record.
Jenkins can’t contribute to Ole Miss’ cause until the 2027 season, but the 2026 Rebels are going to be doing everything they can to finally get over the hump and win the SEC title this fall. Here is what the Kalshi market is currently saying about their chances to do just that against those fierce conference rivals:
