The long-awaited first trailer for Evil Dead Burn has officially dropped.
The trailer, which was released on Tuesday, April 5, by Warner Brothers, gave fans their first real look at the mysterious new installment in the iconic franchise.
As the newly revealed logline explains: “After the loss of her husband, a woman seeks solace with her in-laws in their secluded family home. As one by one they are transformed into Deadites—turning the gathering into a family reunion from hell—she comes to discover that the vows she took in life live on… even in death.”
The ominous first look opens with a woman loading the dishwasher in her home, who receives a knock on the door. The individual at the door winds up being an undead woman with some of her fingers cleanly sliced off and a car headrest through the side of her face, which she removes. The trailer teases the car accident that caused the injury, along with other gory scenes along the way. The movie’s tagline is equally as chilling: “Family is the root of all evil.”

The franchise dates back to Sam Raimi’s 1981 classic The Evil Dead, which introduced audiences to the Necronomicon and a world of relentless supernatural terror. Over the decades, the series has expanded through sequels, a reboot, and even the TV spinoff Ash vs. Evil Dead.
The cast for Burn includes Souheila Yacoub, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, and Tandi Wright, with longtime franchise collaborators, including Raimi and Bruce Campbell, remaining involved as producers. The trailer first debuted at CinemaCon in Las Vegas last month.
But that’s not all for the franchise. Another installment, Evil Dead Wrath, is already in the works—a surprisingly quick turnaround given how recently Burn wrapped production. It is expected to be released sometime in Spring 2028.
Evil Dead Burn is set to hit theaters on July 10.
