Ryan Silverfield is focused on fixing the culture of the Arkansas football program.
The Razorbacks haven’t been relevant in quite some time, and Silverfield was brought over from Memphis to help change that. But on Monday in a story released by On3Sports’ Pete Nakos, Silverfield admitted that he doesn’t quite know how his team matches up in Week 2 against Utah, nor in Week 3’s SEC opener against Georgia.
Because of this, Silverfield is focused most on controlling the controllables in Year 1. As he told Low on Monday, the Razorbacks are aiming to do the little things at a high level.
“I don’t know, when we line up, how we even match up against Utah. I don’t know how we match up with Georgia in our first SEC game from a talent standpoint,” Silverfield told Nakos. “So let’s be the best in the country in the controllables. Best in the country in attitude. Best in the country in effort — those things have nothing to do with talent. We’re going to harp on that all the time. Best in the country in how much film we study, and the execution and discipline.”
Arkansas opens its season on September 5 against North Alabama.
