I’ve been working with Nomad since the founding of MacSources and the design team continues to amaze me. I’ve always had an appreciation for fine leather wallets and I really like the special design of this one. It combines the classic look of a bifold wallet with a little something extra. The exterior pouch is very convenient for quick carry items, but I would be cautious about what you put there since it is an exterior opening.

Craftsmanship & Leather

Growing up, my grandfather made a lot of leather items. He was a craftsman, so I learned young to appreciate the effort in everything that is made. Someone learned a skill to craft what you are looking at, and that skill was learned over time. So respect must be paid. This same philosophy is carried by the Horween Leather Company, which is Nomad’s partner with these fine leather products.

Horween Leather Company is based out of Chicago and has been operating for more than 120 years. They believe that, “Making the best means doing lots of little things right. Everyday Carry Perspective

I’ve always liked EDC gear, but the reality is, as much as I enjoy playing with everyday carry items, I’m a minimalist. I carry my switchblade, my pistol, and my wallet. So, there is no place for an Apple AirTag. The Tracking Card works very much like the AirTags. You open Apple’s Find My app and look for your device, tell it to chime so you can find it. Unfortunately, the chime doesn’t work for me due to having higher-end hearing loss, so maybe next round they will include one that has a deeper, richer sound for people with this type of hearing loss.

Aside from that, you can locate your Tracking Card on Find My app just like you would an AirTag. In my opinion, the Tracking Card is what really sets this wallet apart from other wallets at this price point. It is removable, and it gives you Find My access for one of your most carried items without hardly adding any weight or bulk. Plus, the Tracking Card can last for up to 5 months on a full charge. It won’t deactivate any credit cards because it doesn’t have magnets built in. The reason it works with MagSafe chargers is because there is enough existing metal in the card for it to adhere to a MagSafe charger’s surface.

Because the wallet has the classic bifold design, it’s easy to carry and fits comfortably in both front and back pockets. I haven’t had an issue with putting cards and cash in it, even with the Tracking Card included. I currently have 6 cards plus the Tracking Card and some cash in the wallet, and it’s comfortable to carry that way.
