ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Breezy and warm weather with an increasing chance for showers and local thunderstorms into Tuesday afternoon. Wind gusts over 30mph at times. Grab the umbrella if you are going to be out and about and be prepared for a few downpours. Scattered showers and thunder midday then rain will increase in coverage this evening and continue overnight. Ahead of the showers high temps today will be near 70 and then fall into the 50s as the rain increases. Threat Tracker Green as no widespread flooding or damaging storms expected.
Rain overnight will continue into Wednesday morning. Steady rain will taper mid to late morning with cloudy and cool conditions Wednesday afternoon. A few spotty showers and some drizzle at times. Light north wind off the lake will keep temps in the 40s and 50s through the day. Another soaking rain ahead with totals around an inch areawide with higher amounts possible in any thunderstorms.
Drier on Thursday with chilly weather for this time of the year. Looking at Friday for the start of the Lilac Festival the weather will continue to be cool with a chance for some scattered showers. Mother’s Day weekend is trending a little more showery unfortunately. Saturday has showers and temps in the 50s. Milder on Sunday for Mother’s Day in the 60s but some showers are still possible.
