Police in northwest suburban Lake in the Hills asked residents to avoid the area near Costco along a busy retail corridor on Monday afternoon while officers conducted an investigation.
In a post on X at 2:48 p.m., the Lake in the Hills Police Department said it was investigating an incident at the store on Randall Road north of Algonquin Road.
Video captured by NBC Chicago’s Sky 5 helicopter captured a group of people, including employees, evacuated to a parking lot, while law enforcement blocked entrances to the area. Details on the police activity weren’t immediately available.
Police asked residents to “please stay clear of this area until further notice.”
