ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Law enforcement across New York issued more than 41,000 tickets during a statewide traffic safety campaign last month.
The Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC) says officers issued more than 1,300 tickets for impaired driving, more than 8,000 for speeding and more than 1,700 tickets for distracted driving. Other violations amounted to nearly 30,000 tickets.
The enforcement campaign is part of ongoing efforts to prevent traffic deaths and injuries on New York roads.
