ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 19-year-old man is facing charges after Rochester Police say he pointed a gun at an officer.
Angel Cirilo is charged with menacing a police officer, attempted aggravated assault of a police officer, and criminal possession of a weapon.
Police say it happened Friday at around 6:45 p.m. Officers responded to the area of Norton Street and Goodman Street for a report of man with a gun.
Officers found Cirilo at the corner of Goodman Street and Strathmore Circle, where police say he immediately ran. They say officers chased Cirilo across the street, where he stopped, pulled a handgun, and briefly pointed it at an officer.
Police say officers were able to convince Cirilo to drop the gun, and he was safely taken into custody after being tased.
Cirilo is being held at the Monroe County Jail and being held on a $5,000 bail.
