ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The City of Rochester’s International Plaza opens its 2026 season Sunday, May 3, with free cultural events and ethnic cuisine at 828 North Clinton Ave.
The opening ceremony runs from 1 to 5 p.m. and will feature DJ Gaby, a performance by Las Batuteras Latinas de Rochester and local food and merchandise vendors.
The event marks the beginning of a season filled with weekly Market Days, cultural celebrations and signature events. Families and community members are invited to enjoy an afternoon of entertainment and cultural expression in a welcoming atmosphere.
After the opening ceremony, this year’s signature and themed events include :
Mother’s Day Celebration, 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, May 10 Malcolm X Celebration, 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, May 17 Memorial Day Block Party, 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, May 24 Father’s Day Celebration, 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, June 14 Juneteenth Celebration with Grand Tone, 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, June 21 Ibero Latinx Pride Day & Pageant, 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, June 28 ROC con Poder, 1 to 7 p.m., Saturday, July 11 (signature event) El Calle Ocho Cruise-In Car Show, 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, July 26 Dominican Day, 1 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 16 (signature event) International Day of Salsa, 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 23 (signature event) Back to School Event, 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 30 Gospel in the Plaza, 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 6 Hispanic Heritage Month Kickoff, 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 13 Special Performance to be Announced, Sunday, Sept. 19 ROC the Plaza with Grand Tone, 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 27 (signature event) Latin American Festival, 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 4 Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration & Plaza Closing, 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 11Food vendors will operate at International Plaza from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Vendors include De Mi Tierra Food and Supplies, La Parada de Salinas and New Generation Meats.
The International Plaza maintains a small parking lot on-site. Carpooling, walking, cycling and public transit use are encouraged.
