Lanes on the inbound Eisenhower Expressway were closed for nearly six hours after a fatal crash involving a motorcycle.
According to Illinois State Police, the crash occurred near the Mannheim Road exit just before 1 a.m. Sunday.
Troopers were called to the crash scene, which involved a Honda sedan and a motorcycle, according to authorities. The driver of the motorcycle was taken to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
There were no other injuries reported in the crash.
The Eisenhower was shut down for more than five hours, and reopened at approximately 6:30 a.m.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and no further information was available.
