ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Mayor Malik Evans kicked off the 2026 Clean Sweep at ESL Ballpark on Saturday morning.
Volunteers in red shirts celebrated 20 years of the Clean Sweep as they walked around with trash bags and grabbers. They picked up trash, dead leaves and pulled weeds as they worked to beautify their neighborhoods.
More than 2,800 volunteers from more than 100 businesses, churches, neighborhood associations and more donated their time for the cause. The volunteers worked on more than 70 project sites across the city.
After the cleanup, volunteers returned for the Red Wings game and a meal.
