HORNELL, N.Y. —A Boston, New York man is facing multiple felony charges in connection with a shooting that left two people injured following an argument over money, according to police.
Michael Grimmer, 58, was arrested on April 29 in the parking lot of the Hampton Inn in Hornell. Hornell Police took him into custody without incident at 4:52 p.m.
The shooting happened on April 27 around 11:50 a.m. Hornell Police received a delayed complaint from the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office about two people who were struck with a bullet fired in the parking lot of the Hampton Inn.
An investigation revealed that an argument over money prompted the firing of one 9mm round into the back of a fleeing vehicle occupied by three adults. Two of the passengers suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and were treated at Rochester General Hospital.
Grimmer is charged with two counts of attempted assault in the first degree, three counts of reckless endangerment in the first degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and criminally using a firearm in the second degree. All charges are felonies.
Grimmer was transferred to Steuben County CAP pending arraignment.
