Veteran Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was expected to play a big role for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the ongoing IPL 2026 after his high-profile trade from Chennai Super Kings (CSK), but his performances have so far been ordinary with both bat and ball.

He has hit only two sixes in 117 balls so far this season, which shows he is not looking to dominate but just trying to stay at the crease, which is slowing down the Rajasthan Royals’ momentum.
In their previous IPL 2026 match against Delhi Capitals, Jadeja was sent higher up the order to make an impact. But got out after scoring just 20 runs off 14 balls, while Donovan Ferreira made a significant impact with an unbeaten 47 off just 14 balls despite being demoted in the order.

During the 2024 T20 World Cup, whenever India needed a left-hander up the order, they chose Axar Patel over the more experienced Jadeja. The reason is simple: Axar doesn’t hesitate. He takes on spinners and every other bowler with confidence.”
